Chicken soup is delicious…steaming hot, homemade and swimming with noodles and chunks of tender chicken…you can almost taste it can’t you?
Well, I can whip up some mean chicken soup. Just ask my three buffalo-sized sons who also require multiple loaves of bread to go with it, and I’ve got some chicken soup for you too. That is, chicken soup for your down or damaged industrial electronic equipment.
What I mean by “chicken soup” in this case is serious customer service. We’ve got a team of customer service folks (live ones, not an “automated attendant”!) who are really listening to you and making sure our outstanding tech team gets all the details about your item you sent in for evaluation and repair.

Getting ready for your annual or semi-annual plant maintenance shutdown at this time of year? Whether you call it a shutdown, a turnaround, or an outage, it all results in a high-cost, big-impact event.
Like any complex task, a shutdown can look overwhelming at first, but take some time to break it down into phases with distinct goals for each phase and your stress level will go down considerably.
To keep the budget and schedule intact, remember to keep your to-do list as short as possible and focus on the things that can only be accomplished during a major shutdown. Everything else can be scheduled during normal preventive maintenance procedures.

The United States, Germany and Japan, the world’s leading manufacturers, are about to be seriously challenged to keep their competitive edge against emerging nations such as China, India, and Brazil according to the 2013 Global Manufacturing Competitiveness Index from Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited’s Global Manufacturing Industry group and the U.S. Council on Competitiveness.
A massive power shift is underway that will change the manufacturing landscape suggest responses from 550 CEOs and senior leaders at manufacturing companies around the world. Currently the U.S. is listed as the world’s third most competitive manufacturing nation but predict it will be fifth in just five years putting it only slightly ahead of the Republic of Korea. They also predict Germany will drop from second to fourth place, Canada from seventh to eighth and Japan will drop out of the top 10 entirely to 12th place.

I went looking through our database for some dramatic repair stories to share with you today…you know, like “forklift speared servo drive unit; customer needs damaged servo drive repaired in 24 hours super rush!”
Not that we don’t get those panic rush requests pretty often, and we love meeting those challenges, but the real drama that struck me today was in the sheer volume of consistent, every-single-day, smooth repairs of your valuable electronics. No drama, no unsolvable problems, just consistent repair successes with satisfied customers. Sometimes the drama is cloaked in predictability and that, my friends, is a very good thing.

Did you know that today is officially America Recycles Day? Don’t feel bad, I didn’t know either until I consulted my calendar. There are many reasons your company might choose to recycle unrepairable industrial electronics, but one reason that resonates with almost everyone is “saving money”.
It’s not rocket science – repairing or reusing damaged electronics is a money saver. Repairing damaged electronics makes good sense and when they are truly unrepairable, recycling is the best option. We can help with that.

Have you ever had to repair a piece of electronic equipment twice? For the same, exact problem? Maybe, for example, an expensive drive repair? This unfortunate situation does happen with some regularity and it can usually be prevented.
Here’s a very recent case study in which this scenario was completely averted. A Fanuc drive arrived on our loading dock needing repair. Enclosed with the unit were notes about the errors it was showing. Notes are great!
The repair was completed and shipped back like clockwork, but here’s the big difference. The customer wanted to know some possible causes for this particular failure. There are many of course, but here are a few we provided them to help isolate the problem:

ACS Industrial Services feels very blessed and very lucky to have survived Frankenstorm Sandy relatively unscathed. All of our facilities are currently up and running at full speed. Yes, some of our Maryland staff lost power for quite a while and had minor storm damage, but this is nothing but a minor inconvenience compared to the devastation our many friends and customers are experiencing in New Jersey, New York and along virtually the entire East Coast shoreline. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Watching the television series “Revolution” the other night got me thinking about electronics (as if I’m ever NOT thinking about electronics!) and the way things have changed dramatically in just a few short years. Awhile back, many of our customers were throwing away many damaged industrial electronics – somehow it just seemed easier. How things have changed!
Even knowing that warp speed innovation can render our electronics obsolete faster than we can write the check for them, these days we are all thinking twice before dumping broken electronic equipment. Why repair industrial electronics?
